Hi and welcome to my new AMSOIL dealer blog page! I'm glad you stopped by.
I created this blog for two reasons:
A little more information about me
I've been an AMSOIL Dealer since mid 2014. I initially stumbled upon the AMSOIL business opportunity while searching for synthetic oil for my diesel Mercedes Sprinter RV. In an attempt to save some money on my own purchases, I signed up to become a dealer. Based on the fact that I was just trying to get a discount on my own purchases, I probably should have just become a Preferred Customer but boy am I glad I "accidentally" become a dealer and not a Preferred Customer.
After a few months of receiving the monthly magazines from AMSOIL, I could see the potential to also earn a little extra money on the side so I started to dabble with a few Craigslist ads and started to make a few sales. Most of my sales were to guys with Harley Davidson motorcycles that wanted some 20W-50. I'd purchase a case of 20W-50 and store it in my basement then guys would come to my house to pick up between 3-5 quarts and I'd make $10 or so. I wasn't getting rich but it was fun.
Then, something unexpected happened...I got a cheque (check) in the mail from AMSOIL for $16 USD. Huh?! Why did they send me a cheque???? As it turns out, not only could I earn profits from buying the oil at wholesale then selling it at retail, I could also earn commissions on my sales.
That's when the light finally turned on!
After that, I started to dig in to the AMSOIL business further and learn how it all works.
My AMSOIL dealer income
Part of the reason I created this blog is to keep track of my past income. I'll share my earnings in more detail in future posts but here is a quick summary
Note: Even though I am in Canada, I am able to sell throughout North America and AMSOIL pays me in USD so I'll report everything in USD
2014 - Approximately $600 USD. I suppose if I tried hard enough, I could find the actual number but, I seam to recall earning somewhere around $600 USD in my first year - this was just a 1/2 year
2015 - Approximately $6000 USD. I honestly don't recall my exact income but I remember thinking to myself that I had earned enough to make a car payment and also remember setting a goal for the coming year to have my income cover my mortgage payment
2016 - $23,794 USD. The AMSOIL Dealer back-end shows my actual income each month for the current year and three previous years. Holy cow...things are growing and looking good!
2017 - $27,570 USD. This has been my best year to-date.
2018 - $20,866 USD. 2018 was an interesting year. I essentially quite my AMSOIL business to focus on my day job. This was both a good and bad thing. The bad was that my AMSOIL income went down. The good was I did virtually nothing and still earned $20,866 USD!
2019 - As of September, I'm at $17,079 so will likely finish the year at around $23,000 USD or so. I may also qualify for a growth bonus of approximately $1000 USD. I did a little bit more work on my AMSOIL business in 2019 vs 2018 but, for the most part, this is fairly passive income.
My Goal For 2020
I've decided that 2020 will be a year that I put more effort into my AMSOIL business and as such, have set the following challenging but attainable financial goal for myself.
I created this blog for two reasons:
- To help me journal my experiences as an AMSOIL dealer and clarify my thoughts. I plan to talk about my income goals, what is working for me, and what isn't. My hope is that by writing down or journaling my experiences, it will help me stay focused on my goals and also make positive progress.
- A side benefit of my writing is that my thoughts may help you either become an AMSOIL dealer or, if you already are one, to find success by following some of what is working for me as well.
